- Custom Colors® strives to take the pain out of choosing the right foundation color. We understand that this process can be daunting and when many women shop for foundation in a boutique, they are usually given the foundation that is "closest" to their skin color, or just simply one that does not match their skin color. Their perception is often flawed by the bright lights of the boutique and when such women try on the foundation in the comfort of their homes, they discover that the foundation does not match at all. But then, they've already bought the product and it cannot be returned, so it gets forgotten at the bottom of the drawer.
- We create your custom colored foundation right from scratch. Our color expert analyses your skin to determine what colors to mix, a series of quick trials are run, testing the resulting color swatches on your face (and not on your wrist as most shops tend to do). When the right color has been found (a process that can last between 10 to 45 minutes depending on the skin tone), we then apply the "daylight test": we test the color on the Client's face in broad daylight. Only when the color matches exactly is the process completed and the Client's foundation is packaged and given to the Client.
- Now, we have an additional service incorporated in all our sales: during the year of the Client's purchase, if her skin color changes (she tans, or her skin gets lighter as might happen in winter), the Client can come back to the boutique with the original foundation and we'll adjust the color at no extra cost. That way, the Client always has the right colored foundation at her disposal. Many of our Clients appreciate this special feature.
- We have Clients from all over Europe: the Netherlands, the UK, France, and from far-flung places in Switzerland too (Berne, Valais, etc.). Most tend to make a day-trip just to visit us.

About Me:
- I'm Nigerian, and my husband is Norwegian so I'm very international in my outlook :-)
- I have a Master's degree in International Law and a Master's degree in International Business from a French Grande Ecole.
Why Custom Colors® Was Set Up:
- I set up the company out of sheer frustration: I could never find foundation to match my skin tone. Following my Master's degree in International Law (obtained in 1992), I worked in a number of places: the French Embassy, various companies in the UK, France and Switzerland. I obtained a Master's degree in Business from the ESC Clermont (Ecole Supérieure de Commerce), in France (2006). While I was there, my business idea of setting up a cosmetics company was very well received by my lecturers and I made up my mind to one day make it a reality. That dream came true in April 2010. Prior to that, I had tested the concept briefly in France and was pleasantly surprised at the positive response I received from people. However, a family move brought me to Switzerland and I then decided to set up the company in Switzerland, and start from there.
- I'm looking to spread out to the whole of Switzerland (through branches, franchises), Europe and the rest of the world as soon as possible. I'd also like to have a full-fledged laboratory within the company at some stage, bringing about new creations in terms of texture and product applications. At the moment, we work with a French laboratory, getting our supplies from there. When I first began to look for a laboratory to accompany me on this journey, it was a major uphill task as no-one was willing to do something as innovative as I was suggesting. I kept hearing: "Oh we can't do that, it's never been done before." Fortunately, I stuck at it and I found a great product manufacturing company with a CEO who's an absolute "out-of-the-box" thinker, and he simply said to me: "Let's do it!" And so we did.
- I set up the company alone (no bank funding, just personal savings and family input), but then I've always been a risk-taker (measured, of course). I'm pleased at the outcome today.
- Our cosmetics are created for all skins, all complexions™ (caucasian, asian, mixed, black). I like to joke by saying that if a "green-complexioned martian" showed up at our boutique, he or she would have their perfect foundation color created just for them! And it's true.
